Tesla Sets Its Q3 Earnings Report for Wednesday, October 21

Tesla will post its third-quarter results after the market closes on Wednesday, October 21. A live question-and-answer webcast starts at 4:30 p.m. Central Time, which is 5:30 p.m. Eastern, on ir.tesla.com, and a replay goes up about two hours after it ends. Those details come straight from Tesla’s investor release.

What Tesla has already said

Tesla reported in early October that it delivered more than 486,000 vehicles in the quarter and produced more than 464,000. It deployed 13.7 gigawatt-hours of energy storage. Model 3 and Model Y deliveries were 478,237, and other models were 8,295. Tesla notes that deliveries are not a reliable guide to quarterly profit, because profit also depends on prices, costs and currency swings.

The last report

For context, Tesla’s second-quarter revenue was $28.24 billion, up 26%, while net income fell 5% to $1.11 billion. Free cash flow was negative, and Tesla expects to spend more than $25 billion this year on AI, self-driving and factories. The stock was down about 16% in 2026 as of October 7.

What to watch

Three things are in the news this week. Tesla says its Cybercab fleet in Austin passed 300. It is showing the Cybercab in Paris. It has also renamed its driver-assist software in Europe. Whether any of that shows up in revenue is the question for the call. Our reports: Tesla Says It Has 300+ Cybercabs in Austin and Tesla Renames Full Self-Driving ‘Assisted Driving’ in Europe.

Our take: deliveries tell you how many cars left the lot, not how much money was made. The October 21 report is the first look at profit, spending and any new targets for robotaxis. Treat the delivery numbers as the setup, not the result. The comparison point is the second quarter, when revenue rose 26% but net income fell 5%. If that gap repeats, the story is more sales with thinner profit.
